Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 2025 Last updated: May 2025 Version 2.0
The short version
MeetLinker works entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to any server.
We never read, store, or transmit your emails, messages, or calendar events.
We only extract meeting URLs from pages you already have open, and store them locally.
No account required. No sign-in required. No third-party services involved.
We do not sell, share, or monetise any user data. Ever.

01 Who we are

MeetLinker is a Chrome browser extension that automatically detects meeting links from webpages you already have open and organises them in a single widget for one-click access.

MeetLinker is developed and maintained independently. For questions about this policy, see the Contact section at the bottom of this page.

02 What data we access and why

MeetLinker reads the visible content of pages on five supported websites, solely to detect meeting links. It does not access any other websites or any data beyond what is visible on screen.

Source What is accessed Auth required Stored?
Gmail Visible email body — scanned for meeting URLs only None URL only, locally
Outlook Web Visible email body — scanned for meeting URLs only None URL only, locally
Slack Web Visible messages — scanned for meeting URLs only None URL only, locally
Notion Visible page content — scanned for meeting URLs only None URL only, locally
Google Calendar Visible event content — scanned for meeting URLs only None URL only, locally
Important: MeetLinker is a URL scanner, not a data collector. When it reads a page, it looks exclusively for patterns matching known meeting link formats. Email content, message text, and all other page content is processed in memory and immediately discarded. Nothing is stored except the meeting URL itself and an optional event title.

03 What we store and where

All data is stored exclusively on your local device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. Nothing is stored on any external server, database, or cloud service.

The following data is stored locally:

Stored meeting data is automatically deleted 2 hours after a meeting's scheduled start time, or 12 hours after detection for meetings with no scheduled time.

04 What we do not do

05 Chrome permissions explained

MeetLinker requests the minimum permissions necessary to function:

PermissionWhy it is needed
storage Save detected meeting links and your settings locally on your device
alarms Check every minute whether a meeting is starting soon so a desktop notification can be sent at your configured time
notifications Send a desktop alert before a meeting starts, at the time you configure in Settings
Host permissions Inject content scripts on Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Notion, and Google Calendar to read visible page content and detect meeting links

06 Third-party services

MeetLinker does not integrate with or send data to any third-party service, analytics platform, or backend infrastructure of any kind. All processing happens locally on your device.

07 Children's privacy

MeetLinker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. As MeetLinker collects no personal data from any user, no personal data about children is collected either.

08 Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes in a material way, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the extension after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Because MeetLinker collects no personal data and has no user accounts, we have no way to notify users of changes directly. We recommend checking this page periodically if you have concerns.
